Although you may not have been in a psychodrama session when have you found yourself supported by others as you told or showed them a situation with which you were dealing ? How do you connect that experience to psychodrama?
Psychodramas are action methods that have been used in psychotherapy where there is dramatisations or role playing such that ther would be a self presentation in a dramatic form such that it would help in gaining an insight in the lives of the people. There would be inclusion of a group and it would be under the supervision of a psychodrmatist, who would be reenacting the past situations or the real life situations and these would be acted out in the present. In such plays, the participants get to evaluate the behavior that they conducted and understand the situation which uis at hand,
I may not have been in a session of psychodrama, there have been situations when I have been found people guiding me in situations. Some of the most difficult times in life is when a person has a conflict of interest with their closest friends or the parents. I was guided by my brother when I had a feud with my parents. He was the one who witnessed the entire feud, and the best part was, he knew my personality better than me. He knew, that I would hear his advice, whatever be the situation. We talked about how my behavior could have been better and the situation could have been managed much peacefully rather than just getting agitated.
This was similar to a session of psychodrama, as in making me realise my mistake, he took at parts of the situation and put them in front of me, such that in my present state of mind, I could connect with it and analyse my behavior.
