What are the unintended social impacts of our airport planning and engineering work?

What are the unintended impacts of our engineering decisions and how can they be considered during planning and design stages?

Expert Solution

As being an Engineer we must be ethical and the social impact caused by the planning and design work of an Engineer must be considered.while planning and desiging of an airport the following point can be considered unintended social impact.

#The airport used for the transportation purpose by the plane and there is taking off and landing phenomenon takes place so in these two there is requirement of the sufficient space and the well trained piolet because in these two cases the maximum accident takes place. So the Engineer must not tollerate if the scarcity of land.Because harm of the passenger is unintended social impact. And the reason behind it may be the design work done by Engineer.

#The speed of the plane/flight is quite more i.e average 600-800 kmph in general case and this higher speed caused high noise also .and result in the noise pollution in the area where the airpot has to be constructed .Noise pollution is an unintended social impact.and because of this the deformities such as hearing loss ,hypertension ,insomnia, sleeping disturbance etc takes place.

#Now the most important impact while desiging and planning an airport is the Environment. These are , where the airport has to be constructed the plane require the fossile fuel and burning of the fossile fuel causes the greenhouse gas emission which has the larger impact on the climate change and the climate change is not a very little issue it is an very big and global issue as per the assessment report of the IPCC(intergovernmental pannel on climate change).

#where the Airport design there are many communicational waves needed to provide the signal and these communicational wave sometime effect the creature present in the region where the waves produced or receives and these affect those creature or being more specific the communicational wave also have impact on the biodiversity effect. The effect on biodiversity is effect on the food chain which will affect the human in future..

There are several social impact which has to consider during planning and design work so the sollution of this all .is the selection of the site ,it should be for away from the heavy population area so by this the impact can be diminished .secondly it should also be for away from the area of the huge biodiversity because it harm the biodiversity and indirect impact will be on the human and thirdly the airport should be in the region of the minimal impact of natural calamity.

Social perception plays a key role in our everyday life and in our activities at work, but it is inherently flawed and subject to many biases. Part B Preliminary Technical Argument (300-400 words): Succinctly guide your reader through your technical argument. Using the background as your starting point, and with appropriate references in IEEE format, build the case for your persuasive position. Explain to your reader why the literature/your calculations support your position. Again, this should be written at a level understandable by your peers (first year engineering students in SEE). You may find it useful to use visuals to support your argument. Note: Your technical...
