Information Technology has become one of the most critical feature in an organization's corporate strategy. With the regular advancement in the field of Internet, Computers, Mobile, Cloud, etc, the exposure to various Information Technologies has transformed the way every organization function. Due to this fact, every organization strategize upon the appropriate level of investment they should make on Information technology and thus prevent any of its competitors from gaining any competitive advantage on this regard.

My organization has been reaping benefits from Information Technology in following manners-

  • By deploying right communication portals for every communication has helped it stay connected to every stakeholder it wants to communicate too. These portals has also helped it broaden its business landscape and thus, globalizing its business processes by reducing the geographic barriers. This can be substantiated from the fact that tools/portals like Webex has helped it create a good communication channel with its clients, employees and investors located in distant countries. In addition to this, by deploying inventory management systems like ERP, my organization has been able to make timely and correct communication to its distributors and suppliers. This has not only helped itself optimize its inventory but also reduced the instances of Stock Outs.
  • IT systems has greatly improved human resource availability to cater to my organization's goals and initiative. It has deployed a wonderful knowledge management system which helps it gain insight about the competency level of its resources and thus take necessary measures for competency development. These insights also help my company in framing its recruitment strategies and designing competency development workshops. Moreover, by utilizing the knowledge management system, every team has experienced an improvement in task delivery because of higher reuse of older solutions and implementations.
  • IT technology has helped my organization in achieving the desired level of data security and data availability. It has ensured that the data is easily accessible by any right person attempting to access it. Using this easier and validated access of data, my organization has become capable of storing and safeguarding critical data for a long period of time and thus enabling it to gain useful insights by analyzing the data on the later phase of the project and thus enabling it to make informed decisions.
  • By utilizing appropriate Performance Management system, my organization has been able to make successful internal communications and thus providing a better clarity to each employee about the KPIs and the expectation by the organization from its employees. In addition to performance management, this system also helps my organization instill transparency in this domain and thus establishing an effective reward system for its employees. This effectiveness in reward system further results in greater motivation in employees towards their assigned task and thus, enhancing the efficiency of its employees.
  • After implementing appropriate level of Technology, my organization has been very successful in preventing hacker attacks and virus attacks. With a properly managed networks, the access to the systems are easily regulated and thus keeping malicious users at bay and thus reducing the reducing the instances of Denial of Service and System crashes to a great extent. In addition to providing network security, these regulated networks has provided the employees with the benefits of work from home facilities without compromising the security of the network and associated systems.
  • My organization has also successfully deployed IT portals to manage and improve its marketing strategy. It has been able to showcase its capabilities effectively through engaging with its customers on various forums like Twitter, Facebook, etc. These forum provide my company with an improved customer service and thus build greater customer loyalty. In addition to utilizing such forums, it has also deployed various analytics techniques like sentiment analysis, etc to track preference and requirements of their loyal customer and thus helping it to engage with them periodically. Moreover, it also helps my organization to identify any instance of customer distress and thus enabling it to take prompt action towards its resolution. Such techniques has greatly helped my organization in making customer switch overs very difficult.
  • IT technology has also provided my organization with another stream of revenue generation. It has appropriately utilized the benefits of the e-commerce domain to compliment its brick & mortar business. These e-commerce facility greatly enhance the product assortment showcasing to its customers, which wouldn't have been possible in its brick & mortar shops.
  • Last but not the least, my organization also deploys appropriate means to draw feedbacks from it stakeholder particularly from its employees to gain insights about the organization's perception instilled in their mind. This feedback helps them evaluate their corporate policies and their efforts towards creating the desired brand positioning. These periodic feedbacks help my organization to take curative actions before their efforts becomes absolute failure. In addition to this, it also helps them in employee retention and improving the employee satisfaction to a great extent.
