1. Explain what a process is and how activities in a process function as a system. Find an example of a process, and identify the different activities involved. How would you improve this process? What would that involve?

A process is a series of activities that add value by generating the necessary outputs from different inputs. To order materials, produce goods and even offer services, both businesses use methods. Processes consist of multiple activities which make it a system. The inputs are usually the outputs of certain procedures. The value is added in the conversion, when the resources are used up. The outputs may take the form of objects, data or choices. Clients can be at the organization's interior or exterior. Therefore a full cycle consists of inputs, operations, output and ultimately the resources required.

One example of a process is the business process model which consists primarily of an illustration showing a series of events. It shows end to end actions and relations. Both IT processes and people processes can be included in the process. This focuses primarily processes and operations. Assets vary according to how they are handled. Similarly , people work in the cycle based on what they do and for what purpose, all in a flow diagram, more so when specific potentials arise. Business processes that also consist of practices that feed into the chief source of the processes and schemes of external organizations. There are different ways to improve a process like that. Mapping this cycle is absolutely necessary. This way one can use flowcharts to track each step. Every phase should be discovered in depth as certain processes every have sub-steps which can be overlooked. Redesigning the process is also important for eradicating the defined issues. The success of the process is likely to bring forth new ideas and tactics. Reviewing the process to observe how things work, is also critical. This could involve asking people how the new process works.

2. Find an example of a business, and identify the processes needed to deliver the product to the final customer. What do you think is the bottleneck in this process? How Would you suggest it be managed?

An online mail order company consists of processes which deliver the product to the end customer. It all starts with placement of an order by the client. The company's systems submit an IT-based data to the storeroom. Stock picking takes place with stuffing and recording followed. The relevant info is sent to the dissemination sector. To generate an invoice the information goes all the way to the account section. Distribution and consignment organization for drivers takes place, and finally the item is forwarded to the customer and invoiced. In this step the bottleneck would be stock picking. At the warehouse, goods are picked up but there are frequent interruptions as drivers seek to transport them to the distribution centers. It happens so because the warehouses are not told beforehand about the vehicles arriving for arrangements. The bottlenecks are handled. Allocating the process to the most successful team leader and technology will increase its efficacy.
