The clinical rotation component of education is meant to provide students the opportunity to integrate skills and knowledge from the classroom setting into the clinical practice setting. It is also to offer students the ability to learn about the complex health issues of patients, practice selected technical skills and develop communication skills in the clinical setting. Simulation in undergraduate mental health nursing education is becoming more widely used as an educational strategy for teaching students skills in effective mental health nursing care.
Through Clinical rotation , we are now able to self-reflect on issues arisen during their clinical rotation, which leads to improvement of their competency in psychiatric mental health nursing and full engagement in the clinical practicum. We have learned nursing skills in mental health assessment, therapeutic communication, critical thinking, decision-making, problem solving, and clinical reasoning. Simulation in mental health nursing education helps us to enhance empathetic care and increase students' understanding of mental illness.
