Let’s shift gears slightly from your previous work with Wal-Mart and think about another company and industry. In this instance, you are working at BP Amoco as a corporate trainer and have been given the opportunity to lead a team of operators to create a training program that will streamline the daily activities of the operations team. However, you must present a plan to the team and garner their support before beginning the work.

Discuss your training process and model. How the model will be utilized to create and support the continued refinement of the training program.

Clarify what legal issues you must the training unit take into consideration when conducting the training?

Discuss the various learning theories and select one theory for your work associated with this project. Make certain to support and defend your selection.

Describe how your selected theory to support the training can be combined with Gagne-Briggs' nine events of instruction.

Training – Training helps an employee to get the required knowledge and certain set of skills which are useful for their particular job. Training is important before starting any new project when you don’t have particular subject knowledge.

Advantages of training:

  1. Helps to grow individually and also helps in the organisational growth.
  2. It will create more efficiency in employees
  3. Management of relations
  4. Increased productivity

Training program always differs by basing on the streamline of the department and on the work they particularly do.

  • Coaching
  • Lectures
  • Demonstration
  • Computer based training
  • Role Plays
  • Games
  • In basket techniques
  • Case study

The above mentioned are the training methods which are used to get the best outputs and also these helps to stream line the work and also basing on them employees can define their activities by themselves easily and even by these training methods, a trainer can easily evaluate the employees strengths and weakness and move accordingly.

Every organisation will have certain book of rules which are tending to be followed by everyone who is working there so as of we have legal rules in training also consists of:

  1. A person can be terminated when their performance is low in training.
  2. A person should be rewarded when he/she scores well in their training program.
  3. Should be ready to do overtime in training if required.

The following are the learning theories:

  • Behaviorism Theory
  • Cognitivism Theory
  • Constructivism Theory

Every theory is entirely different and I would like to choose Cognitivism Theory, which purely defines my answer.

Cognitivism Theory:-

  1. In this theory learners all always treated as active participants.
  2. Knowledge is stored in physical symbols which are developed on all the training methods which I choose here for training.
  3. In this, theory information processing always leads to understanding and retention.

My selected theory and Gagne-Briggs nine events of instruction they both when combined, will support the training as:

  • Creating the objectives of an employee and showing the number of ways to achieve them.
  • When the information is processed it will lead to good bonding with team and can assess the employee easily.
  • Gain attention through verbal communication and provide valid feedback for every aspect whatever they do and guide them if required.

By combining them both there are these three different points are brought out as a best technique to follow and when it is implemented properly the best output can be seen.
