Expert Solution

  • There are several differences between good lectures and effective instruction-
  • In good lectures, the teacher may not know what the students already know, but when effective instruction is provided to the student the teachers have an idea about previous knowledge of the students.
  • In good lectures, the teacher may not increase the motivation of student but in effective instruction, teachers can increase the motivation of the student and make them to pay more attention on the lesson.
  • In good lectures, the time of the lectures may be fast for the student's comprehension, but in the effective instruction, student is provided enough time to comprehend the lesson.
  • According to QAIT model there are four elements which make the instruction effective.

1. Quality of Instruction-

  • How instruction is provided to the student so that the students can learn the lesson easily.
  • The presentation of the instruction matters for the quality of the instruction.

2. Appropriate Levels of Instruction-

  • The level of the instruction should be moderate, it should not be too easy or too difficult. So that the student gets ready to learn the lesson.

3. Incentive-

  • Motivation is necessary tool for learning, teacher should make sure that students are motivated to learn the lesson.

4. Time-

  • This is also important that the student should get enough time to learn the lesson.
