Betty newman (1924-present ) is a Nursing theorist who Developed the newman system model . And published on 1972.

The newman system model identifies three relevant environment :1) internal ,2) external and 3) created.

1) The internal environment exist within the client system. All forces and interactive. Influences that are solely within boundaries of the client system make up this environment .

2) The external environment exist outside the client system.

3) The created environment is unconscious developed and is used by the client to support protective coping.

Newman's work focuses on wellness of client system un relation to environmental stressors and reactions to stressors. The goal of nursing is to facilitate optimal wellness for the client through retention stability . Contemporary nursing knowledge : Analysis and evaluation of Nursing models and theories.
