research on the relevance of statistical data in a healthcare environment
This answer might guide you.
Statistucal data are extremely important in a healthcare enviroment. Any deductions, or conclusions are drawn based on statistical significance that are established by data. Let's consider some examples.
Suppose a scientist claims to invent a drug that performs better than the current standard drug. Now, how exactly do we judge whether his/her drug is really better or not. We can usually perform a basic t-test for that (although the thing is not this simple, as there are many other factors to consider). We can administer the new drug to a randomly selected subject group, and standard drug to another randomly selected group and carry out a one sample t-test.
Also, we see that amid this covid-19 crisis, we are making predictions regarding the incidence of disease in a later time, etc. All these predictions and deductions are based on some statistical epidemological models that rely on statistical data. In fact the term 'flattening the curve' relates back to statistics.
