Compare the health effects of illegal drug use with those of alcohol and tobacco. Which generates more health problems? Why?

In the society that we are living today, there are a number of instances in which people begin abusing, as soon as they are in a situation in their life which is low. Moreover, abuse and alcohol usage is a common phenomenon and is also considered as a symbol of status.

The use of alcohol has been widespread and is a common form not only in America but all over the world. For people, binge drinking is a common phenomenon and people think of each other as being cool. Same is the situation with drug usage. Excessive alcohol usage is dangerous and it could not only hurt a single person but also the society in the form of traffic fatalities, violence, cancer etc.

The health problems in cocaine are:

  • Short term effects may be in the form of edginess, craving. These people may not be sleeping properly or eating properly. It could be making people paranoid. Long term effects may be in the form of prolonged daily usage or a person might start becoming psychotic or may cause hallucinations.
  • Alcohol may affect sleep, could cause poisoning, may affect sugar, could cause high blood pressure, could also cause migraines.

In totality, the total health effects caused by alcohol consumption is much greater than the health effects of drugs. Hence, alcohol is worse for health.
