It is critical that the CIO and the CMO work closely together
today in order to facilitate the business transformation that most
companies must accomplish to stay competitive because:
- CMOs, who are mainly responsible for promoting growth using
marketing communications, need the CIOs’ help to turn the surplus
customer data into increased revenue which has been collected by
company from quite some time. CIOs in order to generate revenue,
require the CMOs to fulfiil their technical needs. CIO is
responsible for managing this data responsibly.
- CMO are capable of setting business goals and create use cases
for a new initiative, CIOs help them in telling whether it would be
feasible or not and analyse the cost for the new requirement.
- Both of them help to grow an effective cross-functional
collaboration between Marketing and IT teams
- CIOs play a critical role in makaing CMOs understand
software-development trade-off decisions and opportunity costs
- Customer Service being the most important goal of the companies
is getting achieved by companies through the use of latest
technology. This is why CIOs and CMOs must work together to ensure
best customer service.
