Solutions

Expert Solution

Discuss the difference between validity and reliability.

Validity of a test means that the test is measuring what it is actually supposed to measure. For example, the test for measuring the job performance of employees should be measuring the efficiency of the employees and not the show size of the employees. Also, if a test is measuring now shy a person is, the test should be measuring the shyness and not that the person is outgoing.

Reliability is that the stress could be performed or repeated the next time. If a study is repeated the second time, it should be giving similar or mostly same results.

Define a group and explain the differences between primary and secondary groups.

Social group is defined as a collection of people having similar characteristics, who are interacting with one another and have a sense of collectivity and unity among themselves. These people have a sense of interdependence among one another and display objective similarities.

Primary group: their is a smaller social groups whose members would be sharing person relationships. These groups last for a longe time. People in the primary group would be spending larger amount of time with each other and would engage themselves in a number of activities. There is huge concern for each other in a primary group. Example is the family.

Secondary group are larger than the primary groups. These involve institutional relationships as well as formal relationships. There oils be weak emotional ties in the secondary relationships where there are weak ties with less personal knowledge of each other. These groups are short term and start with a significance and these may continue for longer rimes or shorter times depending upon the purpose of the association.
