The key characteristics which must be possessed by a manager to term as an effective leader are given as below:-

  • A manager should be good in an interpersonal relationship so that a good and cordial relationship can be established between the leader and the followers.
  • Effective communication is an essential trait in order to motivate the followers.
  • Innovative, futuristic and ability to take risk are the main traits of a manager to terms as a successful leader.
  • The manager must take the responsibility for the failures of the team and must give credit to all for success.
  • The manager must have the risk-taking ability so that he can capitalize the opportunities presented by the environment and different situations.

In my opinion Steve Jobs is a very good example of the successful and effective leader, He always used to motivate his team in order to produce the world-class technology, Even at the situation when he was expelled from his own company, he did not lose hope and worked really very hard to make Apple as a world beater organization. He always had a vision for his team and organization and always set the higher standards of performance. His main focus was on quality products and developing those products which have a unique value proposition for the customers. He was a risk taker and most of the time his risk-taking ability made him successful which also developed respond for him among the employees.

The main drivers of globalization are as below:-

Per capita income in the industrialized nations are becoming almost similar

There is a vast development in communication channels and connectivity in the entire world which makes the business transactions across the boundaries quite easy

Most of the government are not reducing the different types of tariff barriers

Most of the economies are not becoming marketing driven economies rather than state-driven economies.

The organizations are looking to find the various means to have economies of scale

The saturation of the domestic market and new opportunities in the emerging markets such as China, Brazil, India and so on.

A lot of technological development is happening which induces the proliferation of processes and technology

Various world organizations such as World Trade Organization, and regional trade treaties such as NAFTA, European Union are supporting globalization.

Due to globalization, the following changes are to be implemented in the organization:-

The organizations are required to be more responsive to environmental forces

Due to a lot of completion at the world level, the firms have to be very vigilant and look for the various sources of competitive advantage

The firms are required to adopt the organizational culture and structure which supports and promote the business operations in different locations

The organizations need to come up customized policies and processes to address the factors prevailing in different economies.

The companies need to be proactive in dealing the world politics and business situations due to interconnected economies of different nations.
