When an individual is a child, he is fully dependent on the adults as they yet have not developed the self control to manage themselves. But after a certain time period, they should resolve independently and appropriately. Otherwise, they may face various problems like,

  • they may develop a dependent personality which means they will remain dependent and even cannot take any decisions for themselves.
  • they may develop the antisocial personality so that they can break the rules, hurt people and show excessive aggression and can do the things whatever they want.
  • after a certain time every individual has to lead an independent life. Being too much dependent can make problem with adjusting the society.
  • too much dependency can lead to borderline personality disorder

Thus after a certain time every caregiver should let the individual for finding their own solution. Not just because pathological conditions but for maintaining a good social and conjugal life also.
