Stakeholders in a Local Airport:

Various stakeholders in a local airport are as follows –

(1) Passengers:

Passengers may be business travelers, leisure travelers or personal travelers. They use the airport as an arrival /departure point to meet their objectives.

(2) Air Carriers:

     They transfer passengers or cargo from the airport to a particular destination.

(3) General Aviation Users:

They include air taxi operators, corporate-executive transporters, flight instructors, aircraft rental   agencies, aerial observers and others.

(4) Investors:

     They are persons who have made major investments in the airport and have a controlling stake.

(5) Concessionaires:

They provide different services to the passengers such as food and beverage services, accommodation services, retail services and others at affordable prices.

(6) Employees:

They comprise employees of the airport organization and employees of various companies functioning within the airport. Their interest is to earn a living in return for their services.

(7) Federal Government:

     The federal government plays the roles of a regulator, a payer of bills and an operator.

(8) Local Government:

Many of the US airports are government operated. So local government officials are often members of the airport board and are responsible for taking important strategic decisions.

(9) Local Community:

It often includes people residing in the vicinity of the airport who may get affected by noise, poor air quality, hazardous waste emissions and others.

(10) Airport Suppliers:

        They consist of equipment suppliers, contractors and consulting companies.
