What skills would you need to improve upon to be an expert witness
Being able to deal with the unexpected is a vital skill of performing well as an expert witness. Increasingly, forensic accountants are known as expert witnesses for helping to sort out the labyrinthine financial aspects of litigation involving complex concerns and huge sums of money. The purpose of forensic auditor is to prosecute a party for embezzlement, fraud, or other financial claims. It targets to prevent, detect, and investigate issues of fraud and financial abuse within the company.
Effective expert witnesses should develop analytical skills. A detail-oriented expert is hyper-organized, efficient, and not willing to accept anything less than a perfect result. The person should be ethical, intuitive and inquisitive. A Forensic Accountant should be open to consider all alternatives, scrutinize the details and has the skills to see the big picture. Furthermore, a Forensic Accountant must be able to listen effectively and develop good communication and concisely in a timely manner
