Name the three different aspects of body fluids that affect animal function and are therefore typically regulated by animals.

Solutions

Expert Solution

The whole animal body is regulated by this fluid Homoeostasis by maintaining the narrow range of fluid and ion balance within them . For example if someone ate lots of potato chips (Salty diet) for 3 days the intake of sodium ion would increase that would be balanced by Extracellular fluid compartment. So that the body can cope changes with the environment and maintain the normal range of fluid and ion balance in the compartments.

The main three aspects of body fluid are -

1) Intracellular compartment fluid - all the fluid that is present INSIDE the cell is intracellular compartment fluid . It is one-third of total body fluid

Extracellular fluid compartment - All the fluid present OUTSIDE the cells is called as extracellular compartment fluid . It has two components-

2) interstitial fluid and plasma - The fluid present between blood vessels and cells is called as interstitial fluid. It contains nutrients from capillaries and waste material from tissues. Hence balance the body Homoeostasis. Plasma is formed by filtering of blood and it doesn't consists of RBCs.

3) Transcellular fluid - It is formed by transport activities of cell that consists of Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), endolymph of ear , aqueous humor of eye and joint fluid (synovial fluid).
