Expert Solution

Paternalism (or parentalism) is a state which limits some person or group's liberty for what is presumed to be the concerned person's or group's own good. It also means to be a leadership style in which a male leader uses his power to control, protect, punish, and reward in return for obedience and loyalty from his employees, followers, or subordinates. It also represents as aActing like a father towards those who are not one's children to promote their well being, or protect them from harm. As a behavior pattern, it may or may not be justified under the circumstances, and may be a violation of a moral rule of conduct when it limits an adult's right for self-determination.

The government commonly restricts our freedom in order to promote the good. Some examples of this include the following: (1) Drivers are required to wear seatbelts. (2) Motorcyclists are required to wear helmets.
