Effective Employee Training Programs
Consider the following scenario:
A state health department official has recognized your county health department as having exemplary policies for employee training and development. The official has invited the health department director (your boss) to give a presentation at a meeting of all the county health departments in the state. Your boss asks you, the head of the maternal and child health division, to attend the meet and give a presentation.
Your boss gives you a slideshow, titled "Investing in Your Greatest Assets: Tips for Implementing Effective Employee Training Programs" and asks you to complete the presentation. The slideshow contains seven slides with the following headers:
EFFECTIVE EMPLOYEE TRAINING PROGRAM :the 7 slides are as follows

2.DETERMINE YOUR DEPARTMENT NEEDS :
1.communication - communicating effectively with employees from a wide variety of backgrounds.
2.couching - couching and development of skills is the employees from different cultural x, religious background.
3.performance feedback - providing performance feedback is free of values and steriotypes based on geneder and enthnicity or physically handycape.
4.creating a work environment that helps employees from all backgrounds to be innovative.
3.TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT PLAN :
Training and Development Plan is basically the plan or schedule which management or higher authorities provide to get effective outcome of work.
In order to inspire the employees to take part in the training you need to properly explain or demonstrate how it will benefit them or how it may be helpful in their job role.
We should develop training and development plan based on business objectives.
4.ADDRESS NEW HIRE AND ON GOING TRAINING :
While explaining the training developmental plans we should address a new hire so that they will understand it clearly.
5.DON'T FORGET TO CROSS TRAIN :
Cross-training involves teaching an employee who was hired to perform one job function the skills required to perform other job functions.
Cross-training programs are a way to more formally organize the process of getting employees prepared to be able to do more than a single job.
It allows employees to expand their skills and knowledge on a job because they work on new projects and gain the skills necessary for specialization or a more senior role.
6.GET MANAGEMENT BUY IN :
Identify who is the best champion for the project or initiative.

7.MEASURE RESULTS :
Skill assessments are one of the most essential ways of measuring training effectiveness. It's important to use visual confirmations to assess an employee's set of skills and performance before and after training.
In fact there are online assessments to identify training gaps and measure training effectiveness as well.
