Describe an application of multiple discriminant analysis that is specific to your industry(Scientific Research) or to your academic interests. Explain why this technique is suitable in terms of measurement scale of variables and their roles.
In order to supply good, safe and cheap medicines with better efficiency, process analytical technology (PAT) was introduced by the Food and Drug Agency to reinforce the pharmaceutical industry to develop and design well-understood processes.
PAT needs chemical imaging techniques in order to acquire process variables for real-time analysis of the process. Multivariate statistical analysis tools and process control tools are necessary for effectively using PAT in the development and manufacture of pharmaceuticals since they make it easy to extract data necessary from the PAT measurements.
Multivariate statistical analysis provides a more accurate data and can indicate if there are any descrepency in the system. Many of the products we use in our day-to-day life are based on univariate analysis that does not necessarily tells us the full story about the products.
Multivariate statistical analysis helps in seeing through trends and relationship that are not evident when considering univariate analysis data
