1. Describe the path of sperm from the seminiferous tubules to the urethral opening.
2 Describe the Function
Tail (flagellum)
Midpiece
Head
Acrosome
3 . Describe the functions of testosterone
Answer
1) Pathway of sperm
2) Functions :
1. Tail (flagellum)
- Tail provides motility to the sperm. The whipping movement of
tail facilitate movement of sperm in femal reproductive tract.
2. Midpiece
- Midpiece of the sperm contains mitochondria. Mitochondria
functions to produce ATP and provide energy to the sperm.
3. Head
- Head of sperm contains nucleus. Nucleus of sperm fuses with
nucleus of female gamate to produce a zygote.
4. Acrosome
- Acrosome synthesize enzymes such as hyaluronidase and acrosin
that digest outer membrane of oocyte and allows the sperm to
penetrate.
3) Functions of testosterone
