"it is also difficult in determining the dimensions to be appraised, and especially the appraisal ratio and how to differentiate employees’ performance." I think performance appraisal should be based on an employee's job description instead of compare with other methods...what you think?
Performance appraisals are always prone to endless debates. If any sort of loopholes are identified, then the employee might lose his morale to work and produce his best results. It does not make the employee to trust the process anymore. There are a lot of methods of performance appraisal, so many of them include the personality of the employee as well as behaviour.
I think performance appraisal is most accurate when it is based on description of the job. The guidelines of the job must be specified clearly, and these must be followed by the employee meticulously. If an employee performs all these requirements of the job, then the employee must be appreciated.
The ethical behaviour must also be considered. No one is greater than the organization itself. The employee must always maintain the professional standards so that the team can work effectively.
All these factors must be considered and performance appraisal must be done with utmost transparency to ensure that employee can trust the process and work efficiently.
