The Leadership may be seen as process of effective communication which motivates others to perform some specific actions which strive towards accomplishment of common goals & objectives. Leaders are mostly communication champions who have power to unite & inspire their followers to come around the common sense of objective and identity. They have the ability to take conversation upon such a level that followers break boundaries & start focusing on vision, common objectives, policies & the various values which may really help entire society to accomplish common goals & objectives.
The Being leader doesn’t merely mean to direct others but a true leader is one who not only directs other, motivates them but one who act as one of them & participates in all the activities performed by followers. Leadership plays a very significant role in any kind of organization whether it is a manufacturing organization / organization involved in offering various kinds of services to its customers. If we look closely what is real metal of leadership then we would be able to find out that leadership is a concept which is closely associated with risk taking, dynamic, creative, change, & vision. There is a requirement to change manner in which the leadership of organization functions. There must be a transition in the leadership from the opinion and persuasion leadership to facts based leadership.
Role of leader is quite important in decision based organizations as various decisions which are taken by management must be communicated effectively to lower level of man power. If leader is not able to take effective decision at right time & with the right decision quality, performance, existence & sustainability of entire organization might be on stack. A good leader is one who not only takes the decision but also take cares of various consequences which could result from his / her decisions.
One should also keep in mind that when some decisions are made, there will be some good results & there may also be some results which are adverse for health of organization. But a good leader is one who comes up front to take responsibility of bad / poor decision & gives credit to entire team when good outcomes are achieved.
In decision based organization, leader is not confined only up to taking decision, but he / she has also to be actively involved in implementing these decision son ground with support staff of lower managers. If some kind of changes are to be imparted in organization, manpower must be taken into confidence else it could result a lot of resistance. Leadership is also responsible to look at performance & result obtained from decision making, looking at volatile nature of external environment, decision must be made on time with right quality & with right objective & the role of leader is very significant in all this process.
