Explain why both leadership traits and management skills are foundational for leading an organization, improving organizational structure, and making managerial decisions.
Leadership and management always go hand in hand when it comes to leading an organization. The company will have employees who need a good manager and the managers need a good leader to manage them. So both leadership and management skills are very much required to build an organization, improve the organizational stricture or even to make managerial decisions. If we consider leading an organization, the company will follow a certain business plan to understand what needs to be done in order to achieve the desired organizational goals. This business plan will be created by the leaders of the company and will be implemented by the managers with the help of the employees. When it comes to improving organizational structure, the company will have to identify the gaps in their organizational structure and look for ways to fill those gaps efficiently. The leaders will make the required changes based on their analysis and expertise and the information will be passed on to the managers to adopt the changes. Both the leaders and managers will have to work together to make the change successful. Making managerial decision even at the mid-level of organizational structure required good leadership skills. There will be instances in an organization where the employees at levels will have to make their own decisions and take responsibility for that. All the employees will have to showcase both leadership and management skills at some point in order to make better decisions. So both the leadership and management skills are required for the normal functioning of a company with great organizational structure and improved managerial decisions.
