Think back to a challenge you faced at work or in the classroom when you had to solve a problem using incomplete information. What was the challenge? How did you solve it? What role did your coworkers and peers play in supporting or advising you?
When I was working for the company Cognizant, I had to complete a major project for the client. The problem was the requirements were gathered by a different person who left the company even before we started the project. So the requirements were not clear and we were not supposed to go the clients again and ask for the requirements. This would make us look very irresponsible. It was my responsibility to complete the project and deliver it on time. The only way to solve this problem was to contact the person who collected the requirements from the clients with the help of the manager. I was able to talk to him and understand what the customer was looking for from the project. The problem was solved and the project was successfully delivered to the client. The co-workers helped me a lot during the project execution as some of them had the experience of working a similar type of project in the past. That was very useful when I was lost in understanding the client requirements. The manager was very helpful as well and he provided very valuable inputs during the execution and made sure that I am on the right track all the time.
