Motivation is most important for any organization as it keeps the manpower to work hard and put their best in the accomplishment of the organisational goals. If we look, we will find that in past the main focus of motivating the manpower was on providing the monetary dividends. But with the changing time, apart from monetary benefits, there are a number of other non-monetary motivational factors have come into the scene which plays an important role to motivate the manpower. In many types of research conducted in this regard, it is found that recognition of the work is done, greater job responsibility, higher status in the organization, sense of achievements are the factors which are also considered as motivational for the manpower. These kinds of rewards are termed as intrinsic rewards these intrinsic rewards can be defined as those factors which cause the manpower to engage in different activities on their own.
