Describe how a personal care product's rheology --flow characteristics-- effects both its performance for the consumer and its physical stability.
1. The rheology is a description of the flow behavior of a personal care product over a range of shear rates and with the passage of time while being sheared. The main attribute of the flow characteristic is the viscosity of the material, it affects the performance of the product for consumer and it also affects its physical stability.
2. To do this we add polymeric rheology modifiers which have the ability to impact multiple flow behavior aspects of personal care products, such as formulation stability, the appearance of product, the application of product etc.
3. Different behaviours of personal care products can be seen by using different formulations such as gel, optical effect cleanser etc.
thus the performance and physical ability of the personal care product can be controlled via various formulations discussed above.
