Outline and describe how the personal characteristics of an individual can be used to develop as a learner
Every individual is different. Personal characteristics like, cultural background, gender and personality traits play a very important role in the process of learning. Some people grasp information better than the others because they have a higher Intelligence Quotient (IQ). However, individuals with an average IQ have different ways of learning. They are not slow but may be they understand the subject better when they are shown graphical representations or are given a video lesson.
It is important to figure out what works out for a person. Every individual has a different learning style. For instance, Katie is more out going than Paul is. Paul is the quieter one and is hesitant about questioning his teacher when he does not understand something. This leaves him with his question and may not understand the concept or subject as well as Katie who clears her doubts with her teacher. Some individuals in general seek for external guidance in the process of learning while others are self-seekers who are very independent.
It's all about figuring out what works for you to be a better learner.
