In order, name each organ and sphincter a piece of food travels through as it goes from plate, through the digestive system, and into the toilet.
Identify each of the accessory digestive organs and their function.

There are 4 accessory digestive organs :
1) Salivary glands
- They secrete saliva containing salivary amylase into the oral
cavity.
- Salivary amylase acts on starch and convert it to
disaccharides.
2) Liver
- Liver produces bile.
- Bile helps in emulsification of fat molecules before its chemical
breakdown.
3) Gallbladder
- Gallbldder stores bile.
- It transport bile to common bile duct via cystic duct.
4) Pancreas
- Pancreas produce pancreatic juice contains enzymes for digestion
of all macronutrients.
- It produce zymogens (inactive enzymes) to protect lining of
pancreatic wall from being digested. These zymogens gets activated
when they reach duodenum.
