Answer

Pathway of food in digestive tract :

  1. Mouth
  2. Pharynx
  3. Esophagus
  4. Cardiac sphincter
  5. Stomach
  6. Pyloric sphicnter
  7. Small intestine : Duodenum Jejunum Ileum

Accessory digestive organs :

There are 4 accessory digestive organs :

1) Salivary glands
- They secrete saliva containing salivary amylase into the oral cavity.
- Salivary amylase acts on starch and convert it to disaccharides.

2) Liver
- Liver produces bile.
- Bile helps in emulsification of fat molecules before its chemical breakdown.

3) Gallbladder
- Gallbldder stores bile.
- It transport bile to common bile duct via cystic duct.

4) Pancreas
- Pancreas produce pancreatic juice contains enzymes for digestion of all macronutrients.
- It produce zymogens (inactive enzymes) to protect lining of pancreatic wall from being digested. These zymogens gets activated when they reach duodenum.
