Lean Manufacturing

Every organization associated with manufacturing believes and know that wastage is the part of the manufacturing process and the organization needs to pay for that wastage but they cannot add that expense on the product in order to get back the amount that they have to spend on wastage and this clearly makes the wastage as a loss for the organization which directly affects the financial resources of the organization as well and in order to make such an efficient process through which they can minimize the wastage from the manufacturing process is known as lean manufacturing. This process totally focuses on reducing the wastage of any kind of resources that are being used and increases productivity and organizational performance in the market.

Now let us discuss the strategies which can help in implementing lean manufacturing

  • The organization should closely monitor the manufacturing process in order to identify the stages at which the wastages are being done and then calibrate the process according to that which the organization can eliminate or reduce the wastage at all the stages of production.
  • The organization should start giving training to the workers who are directly working with the equipment, tools and raw materials. Through this training process workers will know how to rectify their working style which might help the process and the management to reduce the wastage and improve the quality of the products.
  • Organizations should always keep a maintained cycle of the equipment that is being used in the manufacturing process. This will keep all the tools and equipment fully functional and use the raw material efficiently as sometimes the process is perfect but the equipment is in not good conditions due to lack of proper care they start wasting things instead of manufacturing.
