Q. What are the steps when using lean thinking?
the six steps which are there to be used while using lean thinking -
value - it is the first step in lean thinking that focuses on the product value, this entails that the product that should be made and delivered should be of the right price also this means that the organization should focus on reducing the waste. to access the value the organization should know the possible problem need and benefit of the product.
value stream mapping - in this step a clear mapping is done of the process which adds value to the product there could be a process which does not create value but are necessary like transport, checks, etc and also there could be the process which can be eliminated not falling in the above two essential processes so taking into account a proper value stream mapping is done eliminating the waste process.
flow - this lean steps involve an efficient flow of the product as it involves the tracking of the product physically measuring the distance it is traveling, subsequently, wasteful distance should be eliminated or must be shortened.
pull - this is the step which takes care of the stocks of the product as the wasteful stocking should be avoided the pull approach will maintain the overall system in equilibrium as the production is maintained as per sales and the replacement.
improvement- continuous improvement is one of the legacies of the lean approach in which there is a mechanism to improve processes continuously.
Repetition - this is one of the evaluative steps for the above step this also makes clear whether the above process will be used in the other process so this is the recoupling steps as the process is evaluated to be used in the other step.
