What are four key characteristics of culture and how is culture manifested in society?
The Four key characteristics of culture are Enculturation, which is becoming competent in its language. Socialization is generally learning the social norms of our culture. Adaptive is when culture accommodates environmental change. Dynamic System it changes continuously. Culture is manifested in society with countless numbers of ways, through our lives and experiences,our values are determined by our culture. Culture can manifest in nonverbal communication and through body languages, and sometime we have to remind ourselves not to judge or interpret people differently because they are not the same as us, and there are so much more with relationship with our family, with our spouses, with everybody and Everything around us.
Four key characteristics of culture are cultural ethnocentrism, cultural relativism, cultural determinism, and cultural differences. Culture is manifested in many ways in society. Some of them are by people beliefs, by symbols, by heroes that people believe in, or in rituals that groups partake in.
Culture is manifested through social institutions like churches, through lived experiences,and through psychological and basic needs. Culture can also manifest through nonverbal communication like shaking hands or bowing. Culture is learned and is handed down from generation to generation. This is reflected in basic needs. Culture is also adaptive.We adapt to our environments with tools, boats, houses, growing different foods in different climates, etc. Culture is shared by a group of people in a society and formed through interactions. Culture is integrated/combined and consistent vs. random. Culture is symbolic.
