In a 150 words or more, why is it so important for an employer to continue to monitor the behaviors of his and her employees even if they are not at work?
The behavior is a matter of change, and changes in behavior affect the performance of the employees. Monitoring the behavior tells the company that what how the changing behavior may affect the business. For an example the employees may start taking drugs outside the organizations. Suppose that an employee who is becoming drug addict may affect the organization badly. The performance may get poor, the employee may show rude or bad behavior, fight, quarrels, abusive behavior may be there at the workplace. Hence the employer has an important task of monitoring the behavior of the employees.
In other example the employee may take leave by giving false and vague reasons. So the trust and integrity is measured by the off the job monitoring.
From these examples it is clear that monitoring the behavior of the employees when they are not at work is also an important task. But again it is illegal.
