Expert Solution

Climate Change :

Climate change happens when their occurs a variation in the nature's weather patterns. This change may last for decades or may be for some millions of years. The climate system receives energy from the sun and some energy from the earth's interior, likewise it also gives out the energy. Earth's energy budget is determined by balancing this incoming and outgoing energy. If the incoming energy is greater than outgoing energy, the earth energy budget will become positive and result in warming climate system. The earth energy budget will become negative, when outgoing energy is greater than incoming energy and the climate system cools down. These variations in the earth energy budget will results in climate change.

Causes of climate change :

The changes in the climate may cause by various of natural factors including, variations in sun, levels of carbon dioxide, earth's orbit and volcanoes. The human activities have been a major role in causing climate change. One of the another major cause is global warming. The global warming occurs due to the carbon dioxide emissions. The heat is trapped by the green house gases in the atmosphere. As a result of increasing temperature, the carbon dioxide level in the atmosphere will increases and the green house gas level lies above the natural cycle will cause the climate change.

The climate change will also occurs by the solar influences. The primary source of heat to the earth is from sun. So, if there is any small change in the solar output will quickly effect our climate.

Effects of climate change :

The climate change will affecting all the countries accross the world in one or another way. The major effect includes:

  • Coral reef bleaching.
  • Species of plants and animals moves towards the poles and to the higher elevations.
  • Artic sea ice shrinking.
  • The production of crops such as wheat and maize will slows down.
  • Damage occurs economically and environmentally.

The climate change and it's bad impact will reduce through decreasing the green gas emissions and through preparing for a change

UCSF has hired you to summarize the effects of climate change on the emergence and transmission of pathogens. In your summary please highlight how climate will influence populations and communities of pathogens and hosts, including the role of host behavior in transmission. You may make comparisons to other diseases. Be sure to identify what ecological principles lead you to your hypotheses and what experimental evidence suggests that principle is true.
