There are different types of tourism such as ecotourism, nature tourism, wildlife tourism and adventure tourism. These tourism take place in environments like rainforest, coastal areas, wilderness, rural villages.

The positive impact of tourism is the increased awareness of environment. Tourism creates employment opportunities for the general public. It is a driver of peace and security across different countries. There is a cultivation and sharing of local cultures and traditions. Tourism generates revenues that leads to the economic growth of the nation and the economy as a whole.

The negative impact of tourism are:

The environment is destruction of the pristine places. This affects the communities that are located in remote areas. Activities like hiking, trekking, bird watching affect the local ecology. There is a loss of vegetation, soil. Camping, hiking leads to waste generation, human waste, scrap generation, etc. Introduction of non native species would impact Flora and fauna this has hampered the local communities. Depletion of natural resources and pollution has impacted the local communities on a large scale.
