Doctors have not been able to find a mutation in the rna polymerase gene. Why is that?

Explanation: RNA polymerase gene encodes RNA polymerase enzyme and is responsible for transcribing all RNA molecules (mRNA, tRNA, rRNA) from DNA by the process of transcription. In turn, proteins are translated from these RNA molecules with amino acids pool. Therefore, all the proteins and enzymes synthesis is dependent primarily on transcription which occurs with these significant and crucial enzymes. If there is a mutation in this enzyme and the mutation are somehow lethal or mutation decreases the speed of the enzyme or decreases its affinity to substrates. It will prove fatal and the organism will die. This is the reason why this gene is conserved because it wouldn’t like to take risk at the cost of organism’s death. In conclusion, the importance, significance and the critical and crucial role played by RNA polymerase reserves its gene sequence to keep its functionality intact.
