I beleive that biological evolution was reason for life on earth, because early atmosphere were reducing in nature so creation of oxygen releasing of cyanobacteria which increase oxygen atmosphere level was the first step after which life formation was more stable at earth. Before this atmosphere, earth atmosphere was not that stable.

Also after cyanobacteria, engulfing of organisim lead to eukaryotic cell (some having both mitochondria and chloroplast (plants) some having only mitochondria (animal)). Then after formation of simple eukaryotic unicellular organisim, it lead to formation of more complex and multicellular organisim, with tissue level.of organisation, then with organ and finally organ system level of organisations.

Small events like this lead to the life which we see on earth today, at every step, biological organisim evolve according to the environment and lead to formation of a more stable species.
