We are starting on equilibrium constant & the Le Chaleiter Principle. Can you please explain how to work these problems, so that I can better understand, and be able to answer the remainder of the questions going forward?
Fe3+ + SCN- FeSCN2+
(colorless) (red)
Naming: iron(III) ion (Fe3+); thiocyanate anion (SCN1-); ferrithiocyanate (FeSCN2+), a red complex cation.
Part 1: When Fe(NO3)3 was added to the system,
Part 2: When NaSCN was added to the system,
Part 3: When AgNO3 was added to the system, it caused the precipitation of solid AgSCN.
What happen to the color of the solution?
Note: left to right side shift of equilibrium = forward direction shift of equilibrium
right to left side shift of equilibrium = backward direction or reverse direction shift of equilibrium
Let me know if you have any queries regarding this.
