Solutions

Expert Solution

Ans) The sequence of amino acid information of a particular protein is present in DNA. The segment of DNA which actively codes for a protein is called a gene. The genetic information present in DNA is copied into mRNA by RNA polymerase then the information located in mRNA translated as a protein by ribosomes. The synthesis of RNA by using DNA as a template is called Transcription. The strand of the DNA whose sequence is complementary to mRNA it has given name template DNA strand or negative strand or nonsense strand. RNA polymerase bind to the promoter region located upstream of a gene and initiate the mRNA synthesis in denovo fashion. During transcription 5′ end of mRNA is released into cytoplasm from transcription bubble (DNA-RNA hybrid)
