Acute promyelocytic leukemia causes shortage of normal white and red blood cells and platelets in the body. Acute promyelocytic leukemia arises when there are too many immature blood forming cells in the blood and bone marrow. The building up the blood forming cells results in shortage of normal white and red blood cells and platelets.
Acute myeloid leukemia is a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow which is caused by excess immature white blood cells.
CBC is called Complete Blood Count. It is used to check the health of the blood sample. It checks count of all the components in the blood stream such as red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets etc.. Differential findings are specific count of particular cell from the cbc.
Bone marrow aspirate is a process done to check the health of bone marrow. It checks whether the bone marrow is producing normal amount of cells.
Cytochemistry is a way of detection of cell constituents by means of biochemical analysis and visualization techniques. It is a part of branch of Cell biology.
Immunophenotyping is a technique that is used to study the protein expressed by cells.
Cytogenetics is a branch of genetics and cell biology which deals with how chromosomes relate to cell behaviour during mitosis and meosis.
