The t-test is a:
a. Parametric test
b. Non-parametric test
c. Test of association
d. Test of variance

Solutions

Expert Solution

solution:

A parametric test always requires statistical assumption about the distribution of the data. where as a non parametric test is a test which is free from distribution assumption. so non parametric test do not required to be normally distributed data.

whereas t test requires data should be normally distributed, so it is not a nonparametric test.

chi square test is generally used for the test of association between the variables.

for testing variance f test and chi square test is used

so t test is a parametric test in which distribution is required to assumed to be normal

so correct answer is

a) A t test is a parametric test.
