Leadership is
nothing but the skills and ability of individual or organization to
lead other individual, group or the organization. Leadership skills
are very important in an organization for successful completion of
task, problem solving ability and handling the team
effectively.
The important qualities of being a good leader to lead the team
and organization effectively during the change process
include:-
- Dominance and
assertiveness - this component makes the leader ambitious
and competitive and they work hard to meet their goals and
objectives. This quality help the leader to make the employees
accept the challenge and give highest level of performance to
achieve the goal.
- Emotionally
stable - A leader should be emotionally stable and should
show positive attitude towards the change. This behavior can
influence others in the organization so that they can accept change
positively.
- Self-confidence - The leader
should be knowledgeable, active, innovative and accept challenge
positively. It is very important to be self-confident in order to
create trust within the organization. This quality can also help
them in building cohesion within the organization so that people
can work collaboratively.
- Integrity -
this quality make them ethical and to be honest and open to
different ideas and culture. They treat people fairly and lead by
example by showing correct behavior and attitude.
- Action-oriented - It is very
important for the leader to be work oriented and take actions to
achieve the goal. They should implement their learnings by adapting
to the changing situation. They should be enthusiastic and ready to
accept challenge in this competitive world.
I have good hopes to become a good leader in future. The
qualities that I have include:-
- I have always contributed towards meeting the organizational
goal by giving highest level of performance at work.
- I make a good relation with my team member and give importance
in building good relationship within the team.
- I support my team members and share views and ideas with them
to increase team cohesion.
- I take up extra responsibilities of my line manager and work
with him to understand the team management skills.
- I have deputized the team in the absence of my supervisor and
have the experience of team management.
- I consider that balancing both people and task are important to
meet the goals successfully.
- I believe in working ethically and keep the organizational
values and norms in mind before taking business decisions.
