Solutions

Expert Solution

1a.) The kind of leader that one must yearn to work with is a transformational leader. The rationale behind this is that transformational leaders are the definitive examples of being role models to the team they are entrusted with. Why is this important? When a team recruits or adds new members, it is going to be hard to settle in and adapt to a new environment. A transformational leader, in this case, is going to be useful by taking the role of ensuring the new member is welcome. The other traits are they don't go bossing around but demonstrate the activities to the members to learn.

It is easier to learn more under a transformational leader as you are not being directed by a conventional leader. By working under a transformational leader, the tendency to reflect the traits of taking responsibility and making change is passed on to the team members and this is the kind of leader I desire to be or am.

2b.) Positive experiences: Being in a team has brought positive experiences such as

  • completing a project together as a team
  • Learning from another team member
  • Teaching another team member about the basic of the job
  • Given the responsibility to head the team.

lessons learned from positive experiences:

The positive experiences serve as an encouragement to climb up the ladder and continue to perform to the best of one's abilities. The value of teamwork can only be appreciated by enduring positive aspects of a team.

Negative experiences: The career experiences of being in a team can negative experiences as well such as

  • Being the scapegoat for issues in an error made by another member
  • The inputs shared are not being considered.

lessons learned from negative experiences:

The negative experiences are insightful in comprehending how teams work in different corporations and to lower expectations from team members. Not all inputs might be considered but there is always a window of opportunity that awaits as one progresses in their career.
