Imagine that you are planning a user-based usability test to evaluate a new interface that allows people to track online their medical information, such as blood tests, diagnostics, annual check-ups, and patient visits. Since many governments have set the goal to move to full electronic patient records in the next few years, this is an important project. Doctors will also use this application but, for this exercise, we’re focused on patients. Where might you want to recruit potential participants? Would you utilize real patient data in the usability testing? What might five representative tasks be? Since privacy and security of medical data is important, how would you include tasks that assess how comfortable people are with the privacy and security of their data? Where should these usability tests take place? What type of setting would be most authentic and appropriate? How might you compare the usability of this interface with other interfaces for similar tasks? What specific steps might you take to make participants feel more at ease?
Solution : Where might you want to recruit potential participants :Potential members would be inhospital patients first for this clinical preliminary , as Doctor–persistent connections are changing, and ideas, for example, mutual dynamic and patient empowerment are turning into a reality.
Would you utilize real patient data in the usability testing : Yes real patient data can be used in the usability testing as all the privacy measure are made to understand the hospital staff .
What might five representative task be :
1. Data and Time the board.
2. Wellbeing record support and Access.
3. Correspondence and Consulting.
4. Reference and data Gathering.
5. Understanding Management.
Since privacy and security of medical data is important, how would you include tasks that assess how comfortable people are with the privacy and security of their data : We will make patients secure that encryption have been used. We will also ensure them that we do regular updates so as to protect malicious threats not to harm the personal data. Also we use two way authentication to protect the data.
Where should these usability tests take place : This usability test should take place in hospital permises only taking into care first few sample should be taken and then the large group.
What type of setting would be most authentic and appropriate: If any security breach happens then patients can reach to health insurance providers who will also be available on mobile apps buyers with wellbeing instruction and send suggestions to buy solid food – keeping patients generally answerable for their own medical care.
How might you compare the usability of this interface with other interfaces for similar tasks : Studies show that electronic patient detailing yields more excellent information than paper-based journals and that ePRO evokes fundamentally more noteworthy subject consistence, in some cases as high as 97%. Significantly for clinical examination supports, both FDA and EMA have flagged their acknowledgment of ePRO study information.
Specific steps might you take to make participants feel more at ease: Making them understand the benefits of electronic health app. Making them understand that the apps work by personalization ,Telling them about knowledge equity.
