Answer: Yes, Violent content presented on TV or any other media such a video games, internet, movies etc. have an impact on how young children learn to manage their aggressive tendencies.
Since the introduction of TV, there have been several efforts from psychologist to understand the connection between aggressive nature of a child and TV. It came from the research that, though there are many other reasons for the aggressive nature of a child, TV and violent materials are also helping in this field. Researcher psychologists such as Douglas Gentile and Brad Bushman have suggested that exposure to violence through media contribute to aggressive behavior of a child among several other reasons. Several important effects of watching violence on the TV, according to a report by the National Institute of Mental Health are: Children becoming less sensitive towards violence on others, children may dread the world around him/her and change of behaviour towards others (aggressive).
