Answer:-

Innate immunity:-

1. innate immunity refers to the naturally occuring immunity by the genetic constituents and the physiology of a person. Innate immunity is called the natural immunity.

2. it is nonspecific i.e, it generates a non specific immune response.

3. Always present in the body.

4. innate immunity generates a rapid response.

5. plasma proteins, phagocytes, physical and chemical barriers are the components, temperature, pH, skin and mucus membranes are the barriers.

6. this type doesnot develop memory cells.

7. diversity is less and less potent.

8. doesnot produce allergic responses.

9. activated by alternative or lectin pathway.

Adaptive immunity:-

1. Adaptive immunity refers to an acquired immunity which is mediated by T cells and B cells and characterized by an immunological memory. This is known as acquired immunity.

2. it shows specificity i.e it generates a specific immune response.

3. it is generated in response to exposure to external factor .

4. response generated is not rapid but it shows a delayed response in 5-6 days.

5. humoral and cell mediated immunity are the components.

6. lymph nodes, spleen, and lymphoid tissues are the barriers.

7. it is characterised by showing the memory and higher diversity.

8. also exibits the higher potency.

9. develops allergic reactions, immediate and delayed hypersensitivity.

10. activated by classical pathway.
