Explain, with examples, how innate and adaptive immunity are different. What is the difference between active and passive immunity?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Answer :-Innate immunity : This immunity is God gifted thats means this immunity is present when your born and it is non specific against the antigen . It includes certain physical  cellular, and chemical barriers throughout the body.

Example : Skin , mucous membranes in the respiratory tract,Tears in the eye etc .

Adaptive immunity refers Acquired immunity that develops in response to antigens. It is SPECIFIC to the antigen which is determined by B-cells and T-cells.

Example : Vaccination .

• The main difference between active and passive immunity

Active: we stimulate immunity by the process of vaccination - We introduce something into the patient or individual that will result in their immune system producing the immune factor. (Most vaccines!)

Passive:Ready made immunity present during birth  or provided by the mother.

Example :  breast milk to her child, Ready made antibiotics etc ....Thanks dear s
