If listeing were easy , and if all people take it in the same way , the task of the speaker would be more easier . Our listening capacity depends on our mind . If our mind wants to listen something seriously , our listening capacity increases and our interset to listen that things is also increases . If the speaker is our dear one and we love his / her speaking style , than we listen to him / her attentively . If anybody talking for our benefits than also in that case , we listen to him / her carefully .

There are many kinds of listner , found in our world . People oriented listner is one of the listners . The people oriented listner is engrossed in the speaker . They listen to the message in order to learn how the speaker feel about the message . Another kinds of listners are Action-oriented listeners , who are interested in finding out what the speaker wants . Also there are some content oriented listeners are intersted in the message itself . Time - oriented listening style lodge a message that gets to the prong quickly . A listening style is a general manner in which attends to the message that a speaker speaks - Among of all of these listner catagories ; I think , I am a content oriented listner , because I pay attentions to the meaning and reliability of a speaker's message .

From the day we are able to acknowledge languages and messages , it seems as though people are telling us to be good listners . But in different situations our listening styles also changes . If we are in a noisy space and there are many conversations going on , but may be we are not listening all that conversations , because that conversations have no use for us . But when anybody tell something necessary things , we listen that seriously . If we are in a situation in which we have to listen something for our knowledge , then we will concentrate about the particular things and listen that very carefully . There are also same situations we have not the interest for listening something but we have to listen that . There is also a type of listening depends upon situation , called as sympathetic listening . It is an emotionally - driven type of relationship listening , where in a listener processes the feelings and emotions of a speaker and tries to provide support and understanding in return . Sometime there was situations in which we have to listen to the speaker and imagines directly in the speakers position .

Having virtual listening skills means being able to exhibit engrossment in the topic discussed and recognize the facts provided . The main thing is we have that much interset for the message that we listen , by this our listening skills improved gradually .

Two main techniques to improve listening skills :

  • Active listening : Active listening shows the speaker that you are interested about what he / she says . Using active listening technique assist to ensure that you correctly acknowledge what is said .
  • Listen to the words and try to picture what the speaker is saying : It is the best technique to improve listening skills . Allow your mind to create a mental model or picturise the things about the information being communicated .Through this the listening will be more interseting.

With these techniques , I will be a better listener in future .
