I have planned quite a few events for my team and also for my organization and for the last few years these events has given me quite a bit of popularity in the organization because the events have been successful to quite some extent and there were some new events that started as well because of the initiatives that I and my small team of 3 members took. The most recent event that I palnned was the farewell of my senior manager who was about to retire from the organization, the event was not that a huge one but it was very important for the team because he has been associated with the organization for around 30 years and was also the senior vice president of the organization.
We actually planned it the formal way by felicitating him and that too by the CEO and the top management of the organization and also showcase his achievements, the value he added to the organization along with that his journey will be displayed to all. I believe that in such events. Following a process is quite important because that ensure that a plan is always there along with a backup plan because there should be alternative solution as well and as such events possess quite an importance the management may also monitor the success and response of these events.
I believe the current process of initiation, planning, analysis, execution and feedback that I an using to plan and execute events are quite adequate but recently we are not getting active volunteers for the process which is becoming difficult for us to manage and handle such events. I think we should improve our process to some extent so that volunteers are interested just like the way we are interested and come forward for help. I also believe that we should possess a formal group or team so that the events are more professional because we cannot take them casually as it bears quite a bit of importance representing the organization.
