Nigeria has been a deeply troubled state ever since it achieved independence from Britain in 1960. Military dictatorships have been commonplace in the country, most recently in the 1990s. And yet in 2020, according to polling data, many Nigerians are optimistic about their country’s future and economic output is growing rapidly.
